Promote Your CDS Doll Shop Online
Chapter One - CDS Advantage
This chapter outlines the services available to a CDS member. If you feel you are well familiar with this information, feel free to skip it. If not, read on.
Becoming noticed as an invaluable online resource for doll lovers does require more than just setting up your shop on CDS and relying on CDS management to bring business your way. There are doll shops on the internet that produce a sufficient amount of money for a person to live off their sales, but they didn't get that way without work to become hip to what gets them noticed!
These doll shop owners realize there is stiff competition for doll items. They realize that even if they offer items that are superior to their competition, the lesser company will prosper and they will not if they are content just to quietly exist on the internet. Yes, the bottom line is the less superior shop can prosper if they simply can be more readily found!
Face it, there are and are going to continue to be, many shops net-wide in the same niche (doll items) as we are. But what sets CDS shop owners apart from shops like those on Etsy or Ebay is:
1. You keep your cost down because our fees are reasonable and only include a low subscription fee - no listing or final value fees EVER! Don’t get me wrong, it does not hurt to do a listing on Ebay or Etsy occasionally; just be sure you find a way to lead people back to your webste when you do so. Ebay allows you to put a link to your homepage while Etsy does not. BUT if you title your Etsy shop the same as your website, the curious will seek you out or if you word your ad just right you can make it happen!
2. Fun challenges – These offer online advertising for those who enter as well as those who only have time to donate a prize.
3. Advertising - CDS does dedicated doll ads in well known doll magazines.
4. Articles - Submission of articles is on-going. Articles are usually based on challenges, but we have begun to do articles based on individual shop owner's talents recently. Please note CDS has no control over what will be published; articles are accepted at the discretion of the editor. However, we do have a good track record for having articles accepted.
5. Blog interviews also give people insight into your shop - who you are, where you're located, what you sell, etc. If you haven't had an interview, please email me and we'll take care of that on a future blog.
6. Branding - CDS shops may have their owner's distinct branding, but shops are also identified as being a part of a bigger entity just by the inclusion of a CDS logo with a link.
CDS believes you demonstrated you wanted the key to success just by joining us. And so far we have worked together making your shop well-branded through development or revision of your website, and because you have been better publicized. Now let’s go all the way and become well known, well respected, and well loved – all the things a doll lover looks for when selecting a shop they turn to each time that shop offers items for sale they are looking for. Let’s NOT give them a reason to even think about our competition!
